What We Offer
Our outreach offerings at ASU GES include services and programs for PreK-12 and the general public through our dedicated facilities- the McKinney Geology Teaching Museum, Fred Webb Jr. Rock Garden and Mobile Earth and Environmental Science Lab (the "Geobago"). Students and faculty members also travel off campus for events such as guest lectures, career days, fossil fairs, etc.

Our educational offerings for PreK - Grade 12 include standard-aligned activities, field trip opportunities to our facilities, classroom visits and special programs like One Day Internships for high school students and Science Olympiad training.
Our students and faculty participate in community events such as fossil fairs and school science days throughout the year. Our Mobile Earth and Environmental Lab is a refurbished RV used for outreach events such as school visits and for undergraduate student field work. For more details and how to book a visit, click on the link.
Teacher resources include loaner kits (eg. rocks and fossils), specimen giveaways when available, ideas digital materials for teaching specific topics, the possibility of Skype-ing with a geologist and professional development workshops.
At ASU GES we have experts in all fields of earth and environmental science. We are happy to help you identify rocks or minerals and answer your questions about the natural environment (e.g. environmental hazards, water quality, mineral resources). Go to the Ask-a-Geologist page and ask away!
