In 2019, AGES is on track to bring in more then $100,000 in outreach funding. Our department has a successful outreach program, with such initiatives as the "Rocking NC" workshops for K-12 teachers, the Rock Garden, the "Geobago" mobile earth and environmental science lab, Water on the Move, and Picture Yourself as a Geoscientist. Some of this money is from grants from agencies such as the EPA, other funding is through partnerships with Vulcan Materials. All of these initatives are in addition to our regular outreach with NC schools through classroom visits, fossil fairs, STEM/STEAM events, museum days, and numerous other events.
